You are in luck because I likely would not have finished this if I had not been struck with a drawing fever at 3am today

But nevertheless! Here is my take on your Ashueño meet cute!

I actually coloured it! I used the reference colours for Sueño and sort of made the assumption that his hair was glowing. Bonus if you know what the other light source is

I tried to make Sueño as scared as possible, after all this is the third human he’s met, and the first two Mother Gothel’d him bad. He is terrified that she might do something to him. I just love brutally traumatized boys 😇

For Asha, I tried to make her expression more surprised and shocked than afraid. After all, she’s the servant to Magnifico and Amaya, and I’m sure she’s seen magic around. Plus… this weird, glowing young man was kind of cute. There’s no coloured sheet of her Act I outfit but I tried my best based off of the royal couple’s colours

Artyom (reading the name of the news program; Nikita says something indistinct too): NOW. A small sound from Nikita, something between a chuckle and a cough. Fuck it, they'll be Buryats (a Mongolic ethnic group native to southeastern Siberia) anyway. (Artyom chuckles) AAAAAAAAHH! (Artyom laughs) Nikita starts speaking ("I- *something else*"), but Artyom interrupts him, voicing the man on the screen himself: I'm a Buryat, but I live here because I like communicating with Irkutsk people, they are all so kind, but they all beat me the fuck up. (Artyom tchk's with his tongue) Yeah. I also suck skins (skinheads) off. (Artyom takes a deep breath and makes random sounds, presumably trying to imitate the Buryat language)

You sgould tell me about the mech pilot ocs toxic yuri…..

ookokok like everything else with Flicker/Out this is underdeveloped and subject to change but i spent all of last night thinking about them, so.

E6 (Elusor) is the pilot ranked 1 above Flicker in their squad, but she's been around for around a year and a half (longer than the guy above her, D5). Ellly's whole deal is that she downplays her skills, her bitterness, and her ambitions, in order to lower the expectations put on her. She's actually a very compotent pilot and absolutly DESPISES the other members of her squad but you won't catch her acting like that. She put son a very bubbly face and is generally well liked.

So, enter Flicker. Who in her sole focus on improving her piloting completely blanks all of Elly's attempts to break down her walls.

This gets Elly more than a little obsessed over time. It doesn't help that they often sortie as a pair (Elly is based on the Mary river turtle so her mech is defensive, Flicker's is fast and frail, they synergise) and , like everyone else also notices, its obvious Flicker has so much potential she's just not clicking with piloting.

It definatly starts with Elly offering to give Flicker some training which she- eventually- agrees to after much 'you're only one rank above me don't talk down to me like that' posturing. But they're never close. Which facinates Elly and draws her in.

Maybe it's cus Flicker is unabashedly kind of an asshole and all gooy on the inside and she's intriged as to why she's present an unlikable persona while she herself is so preoccupied with being as amiable as possible? Maybe.

I don't have a lot figured out for the plot yet but I DO know the main conceit is everyone above Flicker and Elusor in the squad progressivly die and they get bumped up in rank and responsibility. Flicker does not take to this well, but Elusor would. She'd be so good. She has this ruthlessness to her character that'd translate really well into Head Corporate Pilot. Obviously this also makes the yuri more complicated. So does Flicker killing a child and refusing to pilot for a really long time but that's neither here nor there.

MY POINT IS... the pining... the angst potential... what is the difference between wanting to know someone and actually knowing them...
